THEMES OF MESSAGE AT THE DEEP, PART 2: The SCIENTIFIC Edifice And Its Rebels

I wish here to expound on the eternal struggle of ideas in science. I would remind anyone that these are the ideas of mine, mainly in how to organize plot, character, theme and other parts of the structures of the stories I write. So, take my rambling thoughts with a grain of salt.

So, forward, on! Once this struggle existed between science and religion. Today it is within science, between the Establishment and the rebels. I specifically mean the issues in cosmology, astronomy and physics, though I think that the struggle can be felt in other disciplines as well. There is this divide in the series as well in how science is practiced and thought about. In what theories a superior to others. One thing I wish to dispel is the idea that alchemy was simply ridiculous pseudo-science that had no actual value in helping people understand the world. The very thing alchemists, or chymists, were trying to do was understand the world around them. Yes, of course you had the charlatans that were only interested in trying to grow wealth. I believe Isaac Newton referred to them derisively as “puffers”. But there were plenty who were serious about their work. One of the biggest practices well known in alchemy and what they are often derided for, was trying to turn base metals into gold - or to create or find the Philosopher’s Stone. Tried as they did, they did not truly succeed physically in making gold but that doesn’t mean that their efforts did not come with revelation and more knowledge about the world.

One of the important things that I have ascertained from my reading of historical alchemy is that it is actually possible to make physical gold. I know this sounds like a contradiction. It isn’t. The problem is that you need to understand what stars are made of and then how they actually work in space. After learning this, you need an exploding star or a nuclear reactor. Gold, as well as silver and many other metals are seeded throughout the universe. I suppose the true Philosopher’s Stone is the sun. But until human society climbs farther up the Kardeshev scale, the sun will remain a tool of the Almighty.

In the Jonas Johnson series the mysterious Mazzaroth Society has climbed up that scale beyond the rest of humanity by way of going down a different path with scientific ideas. It has moved them ahead of everyone else. when I look at the history of science in the nineteenth centuries and the twentieth, we have come down to this dark age in science where no progress can be made because we went down the wrong path over a hundred years ago. Science is beautiful, mathematical and elegant, but it is wrong as it is being understood and practiced today. And mathematics is not science. And using science in service to mathematics instead of the other way around, which is how I think it should be done, is nothing short of sorcery. Or mathmagic as some would call it.

The rigid way science is practiced today is far from the natural philosopher’s broad view and practiced of it in the past. And yet, these are the secrets of the scientific past. Revealed by the work of so-called charlatans. The rebels. There are more still.

Enter the battle of ideas from established science and the so-called outsider ideas of modern times. Such as mainstream ideas about physics and cosmology and The Electric Universe theory or the Plasma Universe theory. How does this relate to the series I’m working on? The Mazzaroth Society uses scientific concepts that work within the framework of the plasma universe and the Electric Universe. They live in a universe where electro-magnetism is one of the most powerful forces in the universe, not gravity. The rest of human society is still working with what I call in the series, old world patchwork mainstream theory which encompasses ideas such as black holes, dark energy, dark matter, red shift and blueshift, big bang theory, endless imaginary particles (and imaginary math to bolster these wild, baseless concepts), string theory and the like. All of these things are attempts to patch up a leaking framework of ideas that are mostly false. And they have held us back from making progress on how to understand the universe and the world we live in. I believe this is why in seventy years we haven’t gone back to the moon or why we haven’t set foot on Mars. It’s the reason why in seventy years we still don’t understand star formation or how stars actually function.

As a writer of speculative fiction I find these science fiction concepts fascinating and interesting and plausible ways to advance a story but many of these ideas hold no water in real life. They aren’t testable. There is also the idea that gravity is the most powerful force in the universe. Due to gravity we have the stars and planets and galaxies and so on. For those who no longer accept mainstream cosmology theories, gravity, while important, is not the most important or most powerful force in the universe. The establishment ignores the power of electromagnetism. They say: “Yes, yes we know electricity is there but it doesn’t do anything.” Not so. Electromagnetism is the white elephant in the room. Increasingly the universe is found to be filled with plasma currents, electromagnetic fields that these currents are powered by. These Birkeland currents stretch across vast distances and branch out like collosal Lichetenberg fractal patterns creating galactic structures hard for any human mind to comprehend because they are so vast. They are all connected, and the organic world of our own bodies and of the bodies of animals mimics these vast structures in how they are designed and ordered. The universe is in a sense, living, not dead or growing cold, if you listen to establishment ideas on the universe. These Birkland currents are where stars are born, in z-pinches, not black holes, and they are born along these currents or cords or ropes, as the Bible calls them, like pearls along a string. It is these currents, filled with the power of electro-magnetism that power the stars, not some internal fusion/dynamo. I present to you the Book of Job, 38:31-32:

Can you tie the ropes of the Kiʹmah constellation

Or can you loosen the very cords of the Keʹsil constellation?

 Can you bring forth the Mazʹza·roth constellation in its appointed time?

And as for the Ash constellation alongside its sons, can you conduct them?

Have you come to know the statutes of the heavens,

Or could you put its authority in the earth?

That last statement is interesting when you begin to understand that the universe is not random, it is not dead and that the information, design and structure that you see in the universe can also be found in biological creatures and features on Earth, even all the way down to cell biology and even in atomic structures. All powered by electrical fields. As Above, So Below. And my meaning is not occultic, though this is a saying used in some occult traditions. I say it because it is actually so from a science perspective. Long ago it was written that the stars are shepherded through ropes or cords as they make their precession through the universe and though this is a lyrical way of speaking about the heavens, it is so when one understands how they work in light of EU thought or Plasma Universe theory.

In my story, because these two societies look and behave differently and have access to technologies to travel space that greatly differ, through scientific thought, they view the future differently, they view time differently, they view the value of life differently and they have radically different values on just about everything. Things the Mazzaroth Society understand is that the universe that is seen is made up of a filamentary structure, which is why the symbol they take to themselves is the Lichtenberg fractal which mimcs it and has actually that same fractal at minute scale. In my mind that fractal represents the spark of life. They also understand that living systems emit light. Cells emit light. And that the, though a dark place and dangerous, is also full of many islands of light and is a living place. Therefore they uphold the moral standard of Light and Goodness in the universe, the Light in the Darkness and in this series, things are very dark. But the Mazzaroth and especially the knightly order within the society does their best to fight to save and continue to bear the standard of Light. But, more on that next time.
